FPLB took part in the International Forum «WasteTech»

On May 26, 2015 the International Forum «WasteTech» was opened in Moscow. Forum on waste management, environmental technologies and renewable energy in the Crocus Expo will last until May 28.

The business program of the Forum began with a scientific and practical conference «Improving the regulatory framework in the field of environmental protection», moderated by Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Natural Resources, Environment and Ecology, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of FPLB Mikhail Slipenchuk.

Conference was opened by Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Natural Resources, Environment and Ecology Vladimir Kashin. In his speech he spoke about the work of the State Duma on the improvement of legislation in the field of environmental protection, as well as the preparation of the legal framework for waste recycling industry in Russia. So in 2014, the State Duma amended the Federal Law «On Environmental Protection» and the Federal Law «On Production and Consumption Waste».

The amendments focused on new approaches to regulation the negative impact on the environment, the formation of the system of waste management, problem-solving in the field of sanitation.

Vladimir Kashin called for the need to strengthen state control over the industry, and stressed the importance of involvement in the creation of the industry both businessmen and all citizens of Russia, as it applies to everyone.

Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Minister Rinat Gizatulin also came out at the conference. According to his words strategic direction for the development of the sector of environmental protection equipment and services in Russia remains unchanged. This is evidenced by the fact that the amendments to federal laws were adopted. Deputy Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation Andrey Chibis said that Russia is finally moving away from practicing dumps and stands on the threshold of modern technology industry recycling.

Summarizing the reports of  speakers, Mikhail Slipenchuk noted the relevance of the International Forum for Waste Management in Russia today, when the country is going to create a new industry, which requires a responsible approach and balanced decisions. He stressed the importance of close cooperation between the legislative and executive authorities in this area, and also pointed out the need for the introduction of environmental education in Russia, which is the task not only of the Ministry of Environment, and the Ministry of Education and Science.

In 2015, the partner of the exhibition-forum «WasteTech» became a federal party project of the political party «UNITED RUSSIA» Ecology of Russia». The Forum is planned international conference «Control systems and solid waste management: legal, financial and technical solutions, international Conference «Treatment and disposal of sewage sludge in municipal and industry» and other events.

The forum is held for more than 15 years. It brings together environmental experts and the public sector in Russia and CIS countries. The Forum was attended by more than 250 Russian and foreign firms and companies, including Austria, Germany, China, Serbia, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Sweden, Japan and others. At the exhibition the participants represent a variety of technical solutions for the industry.

Vladimir Kashin and Mikhail Slipenchuk visited the stands of various companies and organizations, including the Fund for Protection of Lake Baikal, which provided information on the research expedition «Mirs» on Baikal», as well as Trans-Eurasian flight Leman - Lake Baikal using trikes and various equipment to monitor the condition of the surface and the Lake Baikal.
