There was a solo concert of opera singer from Buryatia, Olga
Zhigmitova, on January 15 in Moscow. It was dedicated to the 350th
anniversary of the voluntary entry of Buryatia into the Russian
state. The concert was lead by the Honored Art Worker, the Honored
Artist of Russia, Galina Preobrazhenskaya. The concert was
supported by the Metropol Group of Companies in collaboration with
the Fund for Protection of Lake Baikal.
The Hall of the Moscow State Variety Theater was full, as the opera
singer from Buryatia, Olga Zhigmitova, is already known in the
capital city and has her own audience base.
This was the third solo concert of the singer in Moscow; she often
performs in the metropolitan areas in the various gala concerts.
The feature of this concert is the premiere performance of Ms.
Zhigmitova of the "Ode to the Baikal” (lyrics by Isaycheva, music
by Poletayev).
Among the guests of the concert were the representatives of the
Government of the Republic of Buryatia, the Buryat Diaspora, as
well as music and theater community of Moscow, numerous admirers of
Russian romance.
