Work on landscape shooting of the location and organization of ecological trails became the second stage of the Baikal expedition of the Faculty of Geography of Lomonossov Moscow State University.
This is the second season of the student environmental camp in the area Khakussy in the north-east of Lake Baikal. Expedition leader - Candidate of Geographical Sciences, Scientific Secretary of the Moscow Center of Russian Geographic Society Tatiana Puzanova - said that in order to study the unique features of the Hakussy hydrothermal sources the samples of water, algaes and microorganisms were chosen for further laboratory analysis.
Particular attention was paid to the organization of ecological
trails in the vicinity of Lake Baikal. For this purpose the
landscape shooting at the different distances from the source was
carried out, the soil, vegetation and topographic features were
described.
In addition, the members of the expedition took an active part in
clearing the Great Baikal Trail.
On August 3 the students of geographical and ecological specializations of Buryatia and Irkutsk University joined the expedition of the Moscow State University.
