The Baikal Brand: Product, Positioning and Vision
Conference was held in Listvyanka. Over 80 representatives of
nonprofit organizations, including the Fund for Protection of
Lake Baikal, and tourism businesses of Irkutsk and Buryatia Regions
participated in the conference. The participants agreed that it is
essential to create a single brand for Baikal and to join efforts
in its promotion.
“We realise that we should show tourists the overall beauty of Lake
Baikal without limiting them to one location,“ said the
Vice-President of the Fund for Protection of Lake Baikal Bair
Tsyrenov. The Lake Baikal has tourist camps, tourism
infrastructure, hiking routs of various levels of difficulty,
educational, extreme, for different categories of people.
Conference in Listvyanka revealed the current interest
in unifying efforts for promotion of the single brand of Lake
Baikal. It is likely that we will see the first drafts of the
Baikal brand appear in the nearest future.
