On 27 July, 2014 a group of scientists arrived at the research base of the Baikal Institute of Nature Management SB RAS in the village Istomino of Kabanskiy region of the Republic of Buryatia. Among the newcomers: French and Swiss experts Baptiste Francois, Vincent Nouchi, Dragos Constantin, Natacha Tofield-Pasche, Ivan Panchenko. The Faculty of Geography of Lomonossov Moscow State University is represented by graduate student Mikhail Tarasov, as well as students of the departments of hydrology, landscape geochemistry and environmental management.
In addition, during the day new research equipment was partially installed on the board of one of the ULM. Experts in remote sensing Yosef Akhtman and Dragos Constantin set a special bracket on which they placed the latest compact cameras and hyperspectral infrared imaging. Swiss spectrometers for surface studies and equipment for chemical analysis of water samples are on test mode in the laboratory building of the scientific base.
The same evening, the foreign members of the expedition made test flights for delta over the coastline of Lake Baikal.
