On February 8 the inauguration of two
exhibitions: exhibition “Faces of Buryatia” and the exhibition
“Modern decorative arts of Buryatia” took part at Exhibition Hall
“Tushino”. The exhibition project of the presentation of culture
and arts of Buryatia in Moscow, organized by the Museum of History
of the city of Ulan-Ude with the support of the Department of
Culture of the City of Moscow and the Government of the Republic of
Buryatia, is dedicated to the celebration of the 90th anniversary
of the Republic of Buryatia and is included in the government
program “Buryatia – space of impressions”.
The event was attended by Minister of Culture of the Republic of
Buryatia T.Tsybikov, Head of the Buryat Culture Society “Uryaal”
B.Dugarov, director of the art exhibition L.Nikolayeva and other
officials. In his speech, T. Tsybikov said: “The anniversary
exhibition is a very important educational value, it traces the
development of the traditions that have survived to the present
day, and their value for modern Buryat people. The photo exhibition
is replete with a variety of faces, good and not very good with
their character traits, inner world, activity. But all these faces
have a common feature – sincerity – a feature inherent in all the
Buryat people”.
A welcome address of Vice President of the FPLB B.Tsyrenov to the
participants of the exhibition was read on behalf of the Fund for
Protection of Lake Baikal. It says, in part: “The main attraction
of Buryatia – a World Heritage Site, one of the Seven Wonders of
Russia – Lake Baikal. Almost all its coast is nature reserves,
national parks with rare flora and fauna, many of which are
endemic. Baikal with its vast quantities of clean water has a truly
vital force!”
The exhibition will be held from 8 to 24 February at Exhibition
Hall “Tushino”.
