Boris Vasilievich Danilov is appointed to the position of Director of the Foundation for the Protection of the Lake Baikal. Bair Dashiyevich Tsyrenov, who until fairly recently was the Head of the Foundation, was appointed to the position of the Foundation Vice-President.

Boris Vasilievich Danilov was born on November 7, 1951 in the city of Ivolginsk of Buryat Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic.
He started his working career in 1968 г. After the service in the Soviet army he graduated from the Historical Department of Buryat State Teacher Training Institute, and then he was teaching for some time.

In 1978-1980s he was the Assistant to the Chairperson of Presidium of Buryat Scientific Center of the RAS Siberian branch, Teacher Apprentice of MSU named after Lomonosov.
In 1987 he presented his thesis in MSU and gained academic degree of candidate of historical sciences.

In the end of 80s Boris Danilov was a research scientist of the Institute of Social Sciences of Buryat Scientific Center of the RAS Siberian branch, an academic secretary of international relations, act. academic secretary of Президиума Presidium of Buryat Scientific Center of the RAS Siberian branch, personal correspondent of Science in Siberia (Nauka v Sibiri) newspaper.
He was appointed to the position of Plenipotentiary of the President of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Buryatia in 1997 by presidential decree.

In 2000-2009s he was Chief Federal Supervisor of administration in the Republic of Buryatia of Plenipotentiary of the President of the Russian Federation in Siberian Federal District (SFD).
In 2009 he was appointed to the position of Vice-Governor of the Irkutsk Region in the rank of the Head of administration of the Ust-Ordyn Buryat Autonomous District.
