The representative of the Fund for Protection of Lake Baikal Natalya Pleskova gave a welcome speech at the opening ceremony of Cinema Festival H2O: Baikal held on 12-14 September in Ulan-Ude. The Fund for Protection of Lake Baikal will show the documentary To the Depth of Baikal about the expedition Mirs at Baikal and its contribution to the exploration of the lake at the festival. The film by the Fund for Protection of Lake Baikal strives to fulfill the previously outlined tasks: to demonstrate the scientific potential of Russian research institutes and to popularize the world heritage of Lake Baikal.
On September 13th at 14:00 the documentary To the Depth of Baikal will be presented to the Russian audience as part of the IFFF short films program. It is the more important for The Fund for Protection of Lake Baikal that the film’s premiere in Russia will take place at Lake Baikal. The film To the Depth of Baikal has already been warmly received by Mongolian audience and European cinema lovers and nature enthusiasts at the Oceanographic Museum in Monaco.
