According to one of the project participants Ms Svetlana Solodyankina, an instructor from Irkutsk Institute, the weather on the Baikal shore was excellent, and campers did a lot of work. The campers of the Khakusy ecocamp completed the entire research part of the project (soil, vegetation and landscape research), polled tourists and collected information on all buildings at the bay, marked them on the map including their functions and cleared the shore from trash.
“In the next four day campers will clear a new path and perform construction work on it”, said Svetlana.
As was reported earlier, the day before campers from Ulan-Ude used a new route to get to Frolikha Lake and stayed there overnight. When they returned to the camp they were greeted not only with regular camping food (cereal, canned beef and pasta) but with the favorite desert of all campers – condensed milk. Life in the camp and team work made young people much closer to each other, according to the observations of their teachers. Campers already have their favorite song – Geographers’ Hymn.
