The conference started on 7 July in Saint Petersburg. Its main objective is to develop priorities in modernization of economic sectors most significant for sea tourism development. The conference was attended by committees of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Sport, Tourism and Youth Policy, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Regional Development, representatives of local governments of the Russian Federation, public organizations, tourist agencies, etc. At the session Inland Waterway Development - Construction and Modernization of Onshore Infrastructure, Mr Afonin, Executive Director of the Fund for Protection of Lake Baikal, delivered a report.
